Steven was able to get off work at noon today to go over to the A.R.K. in Lacon to pick up our girl! Her name at the shelter was Sundae because that was the day she was left there. She doesn't answer to it and Steven wasn't crazy about her name, so we've decided on Bailey! Steven left me a voicemail after they left that said doesn't like to sit in the back seat because she jumped right into the passenger seat right by him! She liked to stick her head out the window and got mad when Steven rolled it up! He was getting cold though because there is SNOW on the ground so she just had to live with it! He said when they first got home he walked around the house with her on the leash, showed her the kennel where she will be during the day at least for a while, and eventually took her off the leash because she just stayed right next to him! :) She didn't jump on the furniture or try and get into anything she wasn't supposed to. They went on a walk around the neighborhood and she didn't bark at the other dogs who were growling or barking as they walked by. Steven said she got a little nervous when cars would drive by but otherwise did really good!
When I got home she came up to me and I petted her and she was happy to see me too! I smelled something as soon as I walked in and told Steven there was poop or something somewhere! He didn't think that could be possible but I kept looking and found a little pile! We had bought some pet carpet cleaner stuff and it did a really good job. Thank goodness because within 30 minutes time she ended up puking 3 different times! We're not sure, but think it was a mix of the food she got before she left this morning, plus food and treats here, plus just being nervous. So, we've had our share of smells and messes already but it all came out pretty good so no permanent stains.
She likes to chase her balls around the house and especially run up and down the basement steps! She sat right next to the table as we tried to eat so we'll have to teach her not to beg for people food. Other than that she's been just walking around, then comes and sits next to us to play or just be petted. We bought a little bed/pillow thing for the living room so she'd have a place to curl up and lay on but she doesn't seem to like it--or thinks she can't be on it.We went for another walk after dinner and she did really good again! She has these eyes that look up at you and are "sad eyes" which I think will get her whatever she wants! Oh no! We're already smitten!

Shes so cute! I made her home made doggie treats today! BTW where is your guys' tv in the one pic?!
ReplyDeleteWell, she puked right at the bottom of the tv stand so we took the tv off so we could move the stand back and clean the carpet and such.
