Day 263-281: Highlights

So, I've decided I am going to be lame.. I've still been taking pictures but have had to use my actual camera or Steven's phone since my camera phone is no longer working. The time it takes to upload the pictures plus just EVERYDAY BUSY-NESS has caused me to fall behind..way behind in the blog. Instead of doing every single day, I thought I would just do a recap of the highlights! I hope you aren't too disappointed!

Sept. 20-21: We hung out with our friends Mark, Emily and Abby for a fun game night. The boys also decided that they were going to build a shed in the backyard the next day so Steven and Mark did that while us girls had a fun time of just visiting, walking to the park, and good ole girl time! :)

Sept. 26-30: Our 1st anniversary was the 29th! On Thursday the 26th I came home to a cleaned kitchen and living room PLUS an arrangement of pink lilies! I had had an extremely long day (leaving at 7 and not getting home until 730 so it was a wonderful surprise!). On Saturday we just worked in the house but got a special delivery from Steven's mom--another bouquet of fall colored flowers! Sunday we headed to church and were surprised that not only did our parents dedicate the alter flowers in honor of our anniversary but also showed up! :) We went out for lunch with them before going on a day trip to Matthiessen State park--Bailey included. It was a wonderful day to celebrate our anniversary. When we got back we tried out our year old wedding cake.. IT WAS GREAT!! It was so big though we ended up throwing a lot of it away. And to finish off the anniversary surprises--Monday at work, I was with a patient in our rehab gym and a lady dressed in volunteer uniform came up with this package and started talking to my patient like they knew each other so I didn't think anything of it. Well, then she said "this is for you"..and I was confused at first so she teased me "to bribe you to work with this friend of mine"..so I laughed like haha, yah right. But then she said "no really, these are for you". So I opened the card and it was from Steven--a bouquet of CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES!! I was so surprised and happy for the nice treat! I shared a few with coworkers but brought the rest home--just for me because Steven doesn't even like them!!

Sept. 28: Bailey's doggie graduation was in the evening. We arrived early and started to get nervous because Bailey was really anxious and seemed to be resorting back to her old ways around other dogs. She seemed to be OK with the dogs she'd seen in class before but the new dogs from other classes she wasn't too calm around. Bailey got to do part of the test on her own--just Steven, Bailey and the trainer. She did pretty well but would NOT sit when she was supposed to and I thought for sure she had failed. Then there was a section when she had to sit and stay down in a line with 6 other dogs. Prior to taking the class, she wouldn't have been able to sit and stay in one position and she wouldn't have been able to sit unattended next to those other dogs--she would have pounced!! She did great on this part even when other dogs were jumping up and moving from position. At the end of the test, we found out Bailey graduated, got MOST IMPROVED, and 2nd PLACE overall!! We all went out for ice cream to celebrate!!

Saturday Oct. 5: Today Steven and I headed to my parents house for a day on the farm! Steven worked in the field beside my dad all day long! I got to ride in the tractor with Steven and the combine with my dad--what a way to spend time with my two best guys! :) My mom and I spent the afternoon working in my old bedroom closet! I still have a decent amount of stuff at their house so we decided to try and tackle it once and for all.. and we were pretty successful. Old pictures, journals, shirts and random things were found. I tried to throw away as much as possible, but there are just certain things that are impossible to part with!

Day 262: Rehab Celebration

After work today,  I met up with some friends for an evening celebration! It's National Rehab week so all the therapists got together at a local bar/restaurant for drinks and food. Steven met up with me later so it was fun to introduce him to some of my coworkers. I've been covering on the rehab floor this week and am reminded often of why I went to school for 7 years and why I love my job! I feel like I get to really make a difference and meet some great people who overcome some amazing trials! I would love to be on the rehab floor more but for now I'm happy getting to cover every so often.

Thought this picture was interesting-- I don't think I shine heavenly light or whatever that one is..and I "really" do more than talk with patient's but I think it's pointing out that we can build relationships with patient's that are extremely special :)

Day 261: BONES!

One of my favorite shows if back on TV-BONES! Like most television series it has definitely gone down hill since first couple seasons, but I have gotten hooked on the people and just have to know what is going on! YAY for Hulu so that I can watch them right after they air on tv. :) Other shows I'm watching now: Covert Affairs, New Girls, some friends have suggested we watch The Middle, or Modern Family so we'll see if we start watching those or not. I just know that even if I'm not that into the show I'll get hooked on it and watch it so I don't really want 5 shows to watch!
